Plake Entertains US

Impeccably dressed in white pants, silk ski shirt and studded leather belt, renowned ski spokesperson Glen Plake spoke in his trademark Mohawk "do" before a group of Eastern Ski Writers at the recent Boston Globe Ski & Snowboard Expo.

Glen is traveling the country this season promoting "January Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month." http://www.skiandsnowboardmonth.org He described the program as serving 300 resorts in 34 states.

Glen and his pretty wife Kimberly spoke of their love of skiing, travel and the ski life.

With a big grin, he joked about pursuing his instructor's certification and his hopes of passing his Level 1 PSIA test. Avoiding a question of his age, he laughed about his indoctrination into the Ski Hall of Fame not being a premonition of his retirement.

A down to earth guy, who doesn't wear a helmet for reasons quite obvious, Glen spoke at length about his notoriety and fame.

A California boy, who now spends 7 months a year in Chamonix France, stated with pride that "its real easy to be nice to people" and " there is no better way to waste a day [than spending time in the mountains]".

Glen is not only a great spokesman for our sport, but he proved to all those present that he is first of all a gentleman.
